AP Sports Preview ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers, owners of the National League’s best record at 57-33, aim for a four-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. under cloudy skies with a forecast of 83 degrees and rain. Right-hander Jacob Misiorowski takes the mound for Milwaukee. The 24-year-old is coming off a win against these same Cardinals on Tuesday, allowing three earned runs on three hits over seven innings with 11 strikeouts in a 4-3 Brewers victory. Misiorowski has been dominant over his past five starts, posting a 2.18 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 33 innings. He threw a complete-game, one-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts against Philadelphia on June 12. St. Louis sends left-hander Bruce Zimmermann to the hill. Zimmermann lasted five innings in Tuesday’s loss to Milwaukee, surrendering three earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts. The Cardinals, 47-42 and third in the NL Central, have dropped four straight to the Brewers in this series, including 4-3 defeats Monday and Tuesday. Milwaukee has won eight of its last 10 games and 10 of 13 meetings with St. Louis this season. The Brewers took two of three from Arizona over the weekend before arriving in St. Louis. Christian Yelich drove in two runs Tuesday and is 5 for 9 with three RBIs in the series. St. Louis has lost four of its last six overall. Iván Herrera homered and drove in a run Tuesday for the Cardinals. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-5 Milwaukee victory. The Brewers are -1.5 favorites, with the over/under set at 8. Following Wednesday’s contest, the Brewers travel to Pittsburgh for a weekend series. The Cardinals host Atlanta beginning Friday.
