PHOENIX (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers, owners of the best record in the National League, open a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. at Chase Field. Milwaukee (53-32) brings baseball’s top winning percentage (.624) into the desert. Arizona (43-43) returns home after a 2-5 road trip and sits at .500 for the season. The Brewers are installed as -1.5 favorites, with the over/under set at 9 runs. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 Milwaukee victory. Right-hander Jacob Misiorowski (7-3, 2.41 ERA) starts for Milwaukee. The 24-year-old has been electric over his past five outings, posting a 1.29 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 33 innings. He threw a one-hit, 15-strikeout complete game shutout June 12 against Philadelphia and allowed just two hits over seven scoreless innings June 6 at Colorado. In his most recent start Thursday against Cincinnati, Misiorowski took a 7-2 loss despite allowing one earned run with 10 strikeouts over five innings. Switch-hitting second baseman Ketel Marte (.291, 18 HR, 55 RBI) anchors Arizona’s lineup. Marte has homered in four of his past seven games, driving in seven runs during that span. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Wednesday’s 6-4 loss to San Francisco. Milwaukee took two of three from Arizona in a late-April series in Milwaukee, winning 13-1 and 13-2 before dropping the middle game 6-2. Friday’s series opener was postponed after being called scoreless. The Brewers are coming off a 7-2 loss Thursday to Cincinnati, snapping a three-game winning streak. Center fielder Garrett Mitchell homered and Misiorowski struck out 10 in the loss. Arizona fell 6-4 to San Francisco on Wednesday, its fourth loss in five games. Following this series, Milwaukee travels to St. Louis for five games, while Arizona heads to San Diego for four.
