MILWAUKEE (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers look to extend their dominance over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night when the National League Central leaders host the last-place Reds at American Family Field. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. CDT. Milwaukee (51-31) has won four of the five meetings between the teams this season, including a 5-3 victory Monday and a 1-1 game Tuesday. The Brewers hold a 20-game advantage over Cincinnati (39-44) in the standings. Both teams will feature key pitchers in the series finale. Reds left-hander Nick Lodolo will take the mound seeking his first win of the season. He is 0-6 in his last six starts despite posting strong numbers against Milwaukee. Lodolo allowed one hit and no earned runs with four strikeouts over five innings in Monday’s loss to the Brewers. In his previous start against Milwaukee on June 23, he allowed two hits and no earned runs with six strikeouts over four innings in another defeat. He struggled in his only other June outing not against the Brewers, surrendering 11 hits and seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings against the New York Mets on June 17. For Milwaukee, reliever Trevor Megill has been nearly untouchable. The right-hander has allowed one earned run over his last 10 appearances and has not allowed a hit in his last four outings, spanning four innings. He struck out two in a scoreless inning Monday against the Reds. Megill has pitched in four games against Cincinnati this season, tossing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts and no hits allowed. In Monday’s game, the most productive Reds hitters were designated hitter Elly De La Cruz, who went 1 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs. For the Brewers, third baseman Joey Ortiz homered and drove in two runs. The Interstat game simulator projects a 6-4 Brewers victory. Milwaukee will conclude the three-game series Thursday afternoon before traveling to Arizona for a weekend series. Cincinnati heads home for a three-game set against Baltimore.
