CINCINNATI (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds open a three-game series Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park. Milwaukee (46-29) will start right-hander Brandon Sproat (1-4, 4.50 ERA) against Cincinnati left-hander Nick Lodolo (2-2, 3.12 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies with a temperature of 69 degrees. The Brewers hold the best record in the National League after taking two of three from Atlanta over the weekend. Milwaukee won Sunday’s series finale 9-4 behind a strong start from Robert Gasser, who allowed two earned runs over six innings while striking out seven. Catcher William Contreras went 4 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs, and right fielder Sal Frelick added two hits and two RBIs. Cincinnati (37-39) enters having won two straight against the New York Yankees, including a 4-1 victory Sunday.
