ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Angels host the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night at Angel Stadium, with both teams looking to climb out of last place in their respective divisions. Right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano (4-4, 3.81 ERA) is expected to start for Colorado (22-38). The Angels counter with right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (2-1, 4.15 ERA). Game time is 7:07 p.m. PDT. The Angels (23-37) are installed as -1.5 favorites, according to Interstat. The over/under is 9 runs. The simulator projects a 6-3 Angels victory. Monday’s series opener was scoreless — a rain-shortened game that was called after two innings and will be completed later in the season. Colorado enters on a sour note, having lost 19-6 to San Francisco on Sunday. The 19 runs were a season high allowed by the Rockies. Outfielder Troy Johnston went 2 for 5 with an RBI in that game and is batting .310 over his last 10 games, with hits in eight of them. Johnston is a player to watch for Colorado. The Angels dropped a 5-2 decision at Tampa Bay on Sunday. Reliever Mitch Farris was the bright spot, tossing four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. Farris, a rookie left-hander, has not allowed an earned run in his last 8 2/3 innings across three appearances and is a key arm for the Angels’ bullpen. Sugano has lost his last two decisions. Rodriguez earned his second win of the season on May 26 at Detroit, allowing one run in 1 2/3 innings of relief. The Rockies are 2-8 in their last 10 games and have lost five straight on the road. The Angels have won four of their last six. The series continues Wednesday afternoon. Following this series, the Rockies return home to host the Milwaukee Brewers, while the Angels travel to face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
