AP Sports Preview: White Sox at Twins MINNEAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Chicago White Sox aim to extend their recent dominance over the Minnesota Twins when the American League Central rivals meet Monday night at Target Field. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. CDT under cloudy skies with a 68-degree temperature and rain in the forecast. Chicago (32-27) enters on a three-game winning streak after completing a sweep of Detroit with a 2-1 victory Sunday. The White Sox took three of four from Minnesota last week at Guaranteed Rate Field, outscoring the Twins 26-11 in the series. Right-hander Sean Burke has been a key part of Chicago’s rotation. In his last outing Thursday, Burke allowed one earned run over 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Tigers. He struggled in a loss at Seattle on May 20 but rebounded with a strong start against Minnesota on May 26, striking out eight over seven innings in a 5-3 defeat. Burke has a 5.40 ERA over his past five starts. Minnesota (27-33) has lost four of its last five after falling 9-3 at Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Twins are 3-4 against the White Sox this season. Third baseman Brooks Lee has been one of Minnesota’s few bright spots. He homered twice and drove in three runs Sunday, giving him three home runs and six RBIs over his last four games. Lee is 6-for-16 with four extra-base hits against Chicago this season. The White Sox offense has been productive, averaging 6.2 runs during their three-game win streak. Chicago’s bullpen has also been effective, with Tyler Davis and Bryan Hudson combining for three scoreless innings Sunday. Minnesota will look to its bullpen to stabilize after allowing 14 runs in the final two games of the Pittsburgh series. The Twins have not named a starter for Monday. According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected score is Chicago 6, Minnesota 5. Sportsbooks have installed the Twins as pregame favorites with a spread of minus-1.5, while the over/under is 7½ runs. Following Monday’s game, the clubs will meet again Tuesday and Wednesday at Target Field. Chicago then travels to Philadelphia for a weekend set, while Minnesota returns home to host Kansas City.
