AP Sports Preview ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — The Kansas City Royals visit the Texas Rangers on Saturday evening at Globe Life Park, with first pitch scheduled under cloudy skies and 90-degree heat. Kansas City (22-34) is expected to start either right-hander Seth Lugo (2-4) or right-hander Kumar Rocker (2-5). Texas (25-31) counters with right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (5-3). The Rangers took the series opener 4-0 on Friday, shutting out the Royals on four hits. Royals left-hander Noah Cameron is a player to watch. In his last four starts — all losses — he has posted a 3.43 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 21 innings, including six scoreless innings against Seattle on May 22. Eovaldi, a key figure for Texas, lasted seven innings in a 5-1 loss to Houston on Thursday, allowing five earned runs. He threw seven scoreless innings in a win at Houston on May 17 and worked eight innings of one-run ball at New York on May 6. Kansas City enters on a three-game losing streak, all at home against the New York Yankees by a combined 26-4 margin. The Royals lost 10 of their last 12 games overall. Texas has dropped six of its last seven, including a 5-1 defeat to Houston on Thursday. The Rangers’ offense has struggled, scoring two or fewer runs in four of the past five contests. The teams close the series Sunday before Kansas City travels to Cincinnati for a three-game set starting Monday. Texas visits St. Louis for three games beginning Monday. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 4-3 Texas victory. Kansas City opened as a -1.5 run favorite, with an over/under of 8. Notes: Kansas City’s next 10 games include three at Cincinnati, four at Minnesota, then two home games against Texas (June 9-10). Texas’s next 10 includes three at St. Louis, three home against Cleveland, then three at Kansas City (June 9-11).
