HOUSTON (Interstat) — The Milwaukee Brewers, winners of six of their last seven, open a three-game series against the Houston Astros on Friday night at Daikin Park. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. Central. The forecast calls for clear skies and 85 degrees. Milwaukee (33-20) holds the best record in the National League. Right-hander Coleman Crow (0-0) will make his second start of the season for the Brewers. Houston (26-32) has won five straight, including a three-game sweep at Texas, and will counter with an unnamed starter. Player to watch: Brewers right-hander Chad Patrick. The reliever has been dominant recently, earning wins in six of his past seven appearances. Over that stretch, he has allowed one earned run in 17 innings while striking out 15. In Milwaukee’s 2-1 win over St. Louis on Wednesday, Patrick tossed four innings of one-run ball, scattering five hits with four strikeouts. His only stumble came May 4 at St. Louis, when he allowed four earned runs in 3 1/3 innings. Player to watch: Astros right-hander Spencer Arrighetti. Arrighetti (4-1) has been outstanding in May. In his last four starts, he has yielded one earned run or fewer each time, including a 7 1/3-inning, one-hit shutout of Texas on May 15 and a five-inning, two-hit gem against the Cubs on May 22. On Thursday at Texas, he worked six innings, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts. The Brewers took three of four from St. Louis at home earlier this week, outscoring the Cardinals 14-3 over the final three games. The Astros outscored the Rangers 16-4 in their sweep, powered by homers from shortstop Jeremy Peña and first baseman Isaac Paredes. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 7-6 Brewers win. Milwaukee is a -1.5 favorite on the run line, with an over/under of 8.5. Interstat’s ELO system gives the Brewers a 60.1% chance to win. Following this series, Milwaukee returns home for a four-game set against San Francisco beginning Monday. Houston hosts Pittsburgh for three games starting Tuesday.
