AP Sports Preview Braves at Red Sox BOSTON (Interstat) — The Atlanta Braves, owners of the best record in baseball, visit Fenway Park on Tuesday night to open a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. under cloudy skies and 74 degrees. Atlanta (36-18) sends right-hander Spencer Strider (2-0) to the mound. Strider has yet to lose a decision this season. The Braves also list lefty Ranger Suarez (2-2) among their probable pitchers. Boston (22-30) has lost four straight, including a 6-5 defeat to Minnesota on Sunday. The Red Sox are 10 games below .500 and sit in last place in the American League East. A player to watch for Atlanta is left-handed pitcher Martín Pérez. Over his last three appearances, Pérez has posted a 2.31 ERA, including a strong start Sunday against Washington in which he allowed one earned run over 5 2/3 innings. He also worked a scoreless inning of relief against Boston on May 16. Boston outfielder Masataka Yoshida is a key bat for the Red Sox. Yoshida went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI in Sunday’s loss to Minnesota. He has four hits in his last six games. The teams met earlier this month in Atlanta, with the Braves winning two of three. Boston took the middle game 3-2 on May 16, but Atlanta responded with an 8-1 victory the following day. The Interstat game simulator projects a 6-3 Braves victory. Atlanta is a -1.5 run favorite on the spread, and the over/under is set at 8 runs. The series continues Wednesday and Thursday before both teams hit the road. Atlanta travels to Cincinnati, while Boston visits Cleveland.
