DENVER (Interstat) — The Texas Rangers and Colorado Rockies meet Wednesday evening at Coors Field in the finale of a three-game series, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. MDT under overcast skies and temperatures near 48 degrees. Right-hander Jack Leiter (1-4, 5.79 ERA) is set to start for Texas, which enters at 22-25. Leiter will be opposed by Colorado lefty Kyle Freeland (1-5, 6.12 ERA), who will try to help the Rockies (19-29) sweep the series after they took the opener 7-6 on Monday. Colorado’s victory Monday was its second in three games overall, snapping a three-game skid. Justin Foscue went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for Texas in that loss. Foscue, who has hit safely in four of his last six games, enters Wednesday batting .375 (6-for-16) over his past four contests. Jose Quintana, who earned the win Monday with 5 2/3 innings of three-run ball, has been a reliable arm for Colorado. The left-hander owns a 2.96 ERA over five starts, with all but one being a quality start. The Rangers dropped three of four at Houston before Monday’s loss. Texas has not won consecutive games since May 9-10. Colorado has split its last six games, with the offense producing six or more runs in three of those contests. Coors Field has historically favored hitters, and the over/under for Wednesday’s game is 10.5 runs. Texas is a -1.5 run-line favorite per Interstat’s projection, which predicts a 5-4 Rangers win. Following Wednesday, Texas heads to Los Angeles for a three-game series against the Angels starting Friday. Colorado travels to Arizona for a four-game set against the Diamondbacks beginning Thursday.
