SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (Interstat) — The Atlanta Braves look to continue their dominance of the Boston Red Sox on Sunday afternoon at Truist Park, where they will send ace Spencer Strider to the mound against Boston’s Connelly Early in the finale of a three-game series. Atlanta (31-14) owns the best record in the National League and has won three of its last four games. The Braves are coming off a 3-2, 10-inning victory Friday afternoon, when Strider earned the win. Boston (18-26) is struggling, dropping four of its last five, including Friday’s extra-inning loss and a 1-1 tie Saturday that was not completed in time for publication. Strider has been dominant this season. The right-hander is 3-0 in his last three starts, including Friday’s outing against Boston in which he allowed one earned run on three hits over 5 1/3 innings, striking out four. On May 9 at Los Angeles, he threw six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in a 7-2 win. He allowed three earned runs in 3 1/3 innings May 3 at Colorado but still earned the win. Early takes the mound for Boston seeking redemption. The left-hander took the loss Friday, allowing two earned runs on five hits over five innings with six strikeouts. His last start before that was a win May 8 against Tampa Bay, when he fired seven scoreless innings. He has been inconsistent, posting a 2-3 record over his last five outings. The weather forecast calls for 84 degrees and cloudy skies at first pitch. The game is scheduled for the afternoon. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 victory for Atlanta. The Braves will host Miami for a four-game series beginning Monday. Boston travels to Kansas City for a three-game set. The teams will meet again May 26-28 in Boston.
