ST. LOUIS (Interstat) – The Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals continue their series Tuesday at Busch Stadium III, with first pitch scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Rain is in the forecast with a game-time temperature of 76 degrees. Milwaukee (18-15) will send either Brandon Sproat (0-2) or Andre Pallante (3-2) to the mound. The Cardinals (20-14) have not announced a probable starter. The Cardinals won Monday’s series opener 1-0, the latest in a tight early-season Central Division race. St. Louis has won four of its last five games, including a three-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. Milwaukee, coming off a 3-2 loss at Washington on Sunday, had won three consecutive games before that defeat. Players to watch: Brewers right-hander Logan Henderson delivered a strong start in Sunday’s loss at Washington, allowing two earned runs on three hits over six innings with eight strikeouts. He will likely be available in relief or could factor into the club’s longer-term plans in the rotation. Cardinals right-hander Dustin May has been dominant in recent weeks, winning four of his last five starts. In his most recent outing Sunday against the Dodgers, he allowed three earned runs on seven hits over six innings with three strikeouts. Over his previous four starts, all victories, May posted a 1.29 ERA across 23.1 innings. Series notes: Milwaukee’s offense struggled in Monday’s shutout loss but had scored 18 runs over its previous two games against the Nationals. The Brewers won two of three in Washington over the weekend before Sunday’s defeat. St. Louis has won three straight series, including a four-game sweep at Pittsburgh from April 27-30. The Cardinals are 9-4 at Busch Stadium this season. Projection and line: Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 Cardinals victory. Milwaukee is a 1.5-run favorite, with the over/under set at 8 runs. Upcoming schedule: The series concludes Wednesday in St. Louis. Milwaukee then returns home for a three-game set against the New York Yankees starting Friday. St. Louis travels to San Diego for a four-game series starting Thursday, then visits the Athletics in Oakland from May 12-14.
