Twins, Mets Set for Series Finale at Citi Field NEW YORK (Interstat) — The Minnesota Twins will look to secure a series victory when they face the struggling New York Mets in the finale of a three-game set Thursday at Citi Field. First pitch is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. EDT under cloudy skies with temperatures around 50 degrees. The Twins (12-11) evened the series with a 5-3 win Tuesday. The Mets (7-16) have lost four straight and nine of their last 10 games. Minnesota will send right-hander Joe Ryan (2-2) to the mound. New York counters with right-hander Christian Scott, whose season record was not provided. A player to watch for the Twins is reliever Cole Sands, who tossed two perfect innings with three strikeouts in Tuesday’s victory. Over his last 10 appearances, Sands has a 3.38 ERA in 10.2 innings, allowing runs in only three of those outings. The Mets will hope for another strong start from rookie Nolan McLean, who took the loss Tuesday despite striking out 10 over 6.2 innings. In his last start April 14 at Los Angeles, he held the Dodgers to one run over seven innings. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, the Twins are projected to win 4-0. Minnesota has been installed as a pregame favorite with a spread of -1.5. The over/under is 7.5. Following the game, the Twins travel to Tampa Bay for a three-game weekend series. The Mets will remain home to host the Colorado Rockies for three games starting Friday.
