SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — The Connecticut Sun aim to snap a four-game losing streak Monday when they visit the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. PDT. Connecticut (1-6) has lost six of its first seven games overall, including a 77-59 defeat Friday at Seattle. Diamond Miller led the Sun with 13 points and three rebounds in that game, while forward Aaliyah Edwards added 10 points and seven rebounds. Edwards has averaged 10.0 points and 4.0 rebounds over her last four outings. The Valkyries (3-2) dropped their most recent contest 90-82 on Friday at Indiana. Guard Tiffany Hayes scored a team-high 19 points for Golden State, and Veronica Burton added 17 points and three assists. Hayes has averaged 14.0 points across her last two appearances. Golden State has won two of its three home games this season and holds a plus-6.3 scoring differential at Chase Center. The Valkyries’ offense averages 83.6 points per game, while Connecticut’s defense allows 90.0 points per contest. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 93-83 victory for Golden State, powered by Hayes and a deeper bench rotation. The Sun will need a strong performance from Edwards and more consistent perimeter shooting to keep pace. Following Monday’s matchup, the Sun travel to Portland for games Tuesday and Wednesday. The Valkyries host Indiana on Thursday.
