ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — The Anaheim Ducks look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead when they host the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series Sunday at Honda Center. The Ducks (48-42) enter after a 3-1 victory Wednesday in Vegas, evening the series at 1-1. The Golden Knights (44-46) won Game 1 by the same score Monday in Anaheim. Game 3 on Friday in Anaheim ended scoreless, leaving the series deadlocked entering Sunday. Anaheim goaltender Lukas Dostal will be a central figure. Dostal stopped 24 of 25 shots in the Game 2 win, improving to 5-2 in his last seven starts. Over that span, he has a 2.00 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage, with wins against Edmonton and Vegas. His performance has been a key factor in Anaheim’s playoff push. Vegas goaltender has also been sharp. He made 25 saves on 27 shots in the Game 2 loss and recorded a 33-save victory in Game 1. Over his last 10 appearances, he has a 6-3-1 record with a .919 save percentage, including wins against Utah and Seattle. His ability to bounce back will be critical for the Golden Knights, who have struggled with consistency all season. The teams have a history of tight matchups. Five of the six meetings this season have been decided by one goal, with three requiring overtime. Anaheim won 4-3 in overtime Feb. 1 in Anaheim, and the teams split two overtime contests in November. Vegas won 3-1 in Game 1, while Anaheim answered with the same score in Game 2. Vegas enters with losses in six of its last eight games, including a 5-1 loss to Utah on May 1. Anaheim has won six of its last seven, including a 7-4 victory over Edmonton on April 24. The winner of Sunday’s game will have a chance to close out the series Tuesday in Vegas. Game 5 is scheduled for May 12 at T-Mobile Arena, with Game 6 back in Anaheim on May 14 if necessary.
