Preview: Avalanche at Oilers EDMONTON, Alberta (Interstat) — The Colorado Avalanche, riding a surge of late-season momentum, visit the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night at Rexall Place in a Western Conference matchup. Colorado (52-26-0) arrives as one of the NHL’s hottest teams, having won eight of its last 10 games. The Avalanche are coming off a 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday, powered by a three-point night from star center Nathan MacKinnon. MacKinnon enters as the focal point for the Avalanche, registering 10 points (six goals, four assists) in his last 10 contests. He had a goal and two assists in the win over Calgary. The Oilers (40-40-0), hovering at .500, look to rebound after being shut out 1-0 by the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Center Adam Henrique, a player to watch for Edmonton, recorded four shots and two hits in that loss. He has two points in his last 10 games. This will be the third and final regular-season meeting between the clubs. The series is split, with each team winning on the road. Edmonton earned a 4-3 victory in Denver on March 10, while Colorado dominated with a 9-1 win in Edmonton on Nov. 8, 2025. The Avalanche’s recent success has been built on both ends of the ice. Goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood made 28 saves in the win over Calgary, and the team has allowed two or fewer goals in three of its last four victories. Edmonton has struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses for much of the past month. Their performance against the Avalanche’s high-powered attack will be a key test. Following this game, Colorado travels to Calgary for a back-to-back Tuesday. Edmonton continues a homestand Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MDT.
