Preview: Maple Leafs at Canadiens, March 10, 2026 MONTREAL (Interstat) — The historic rivalry between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens will be renewed under starkly different circumstances Tuesday night at Bell Centre. The Canadiens (34-28-0) enter the contest holding a playoff position in the Eastern Conference, while the visiting Maple Leafs (27-37-0) are mired near the bottom of the standings. Montreal has won seven of its last 10 games, while Toronto has lost eight of its last nine, including a 5-2 defeat to Tampa Bay on Saturday. A key matchup will feature wingers on opposite trajectories. Montreal’s Juraj Slafkovsky is surging, coming off a two-goal, one-assist performance in a 4-3 win over Los Angeles. He has four points in his last two games. Toronto’s Nicholas Robertson has been a rare bright spot during the skid, scoring a goal on a team-high six shots against the Lightning. He leads the Maple Leafs in shots on goal over the past five games. The season series favors Montreal. The Canadiens have won two of three meetings, including a 5-2 home victory on Nov. 22 and a 2-1 shootout win in Toronto on Dec. 6. The Maple Leafs’ lone win was a 5-2 decision on Oct. 8. In net, Montreal’s Jakub Dobes is expected to start after making 35 saves against the Kings. Toronto’s Anthony Stolarz, who allowed five goals on 32 shots against Tampa Bay, is likely to get the nod. The game opens a critical three-game homestand for the Canadiens as they push for the postseason. For the Maple Leafs, it is another opportunity to play spoiler and seek momentum during a disappointing campaign. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
