Preview: Oilers at Avalanche, March 10, 2026 DENVER (Interstat) — The Colorado Avalanche will look to continue their dominance over the struggling Edmonton Oilers when the teams meet Tuesday night at Ball Arena. The Avalanche (43-19) enter on a five-game point streak (4-0-1) and are among the NHL’s elite, while the Oilers (30-33) have lost three of their last four. Colorado throttled Edmonton 9-1 in their last meeting on Nov. 8, 2025. Nathan MacKinnon powers the Avalanche attack. The star center has points in five straight games, tallying three goals and six assists in that span. He is coming off a one-goal, nine-shot performance in a 3-2 shootout win over Minnesota on Sunday. For Edmonton, forward Jason Dickinson is a player to watch. In the Oilers’ most recent game, a 6-3 loss to Carolina on Friday, Zach Hyman provided the offense with two goals, but Dickinson’s physical presence was noted. Edmonton has shown flashes, including an 8-1 rout of Los Angeles on Feb. 26, but consistency has been elusive. Colorado’s recent run includes a 5-4 shootout win in Dallas and a 5-1 victory in Anaheim. The Avalanche have been strong at home, going 3-1-0 in their last four at Ball Arena. Edmonton, meanwhile, is beginning a three-game road trip. Following this contest, the Oilers visit Dallas and St. Louis later this week. Colorado embarks on a four-game road trip starting Thursday in Seattle. The Avalanche hold a significant edge in the standings and recent form, making them heavy favorites. The Oilers will need to contain MacKinnon’s line and find timely goaltending to reverse their fortunes in the season series. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MDT.
