TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (38-20) AT MINNESOTA WILD (35-25) SAINT PAUL, Minn. (Interstat) β€” The Tampa Bay Lightning look to halt a two-game skid when they visit the surging Minnesota Wild in a cross-conference NHL matchup Tuesday night at Grand Casino Arena. The Lightning (38-20), second in the Atlantic Division, are coming off a 6-2 home loss to Buffalo on Saturday. That followed a 5-4 defeat in Carolina last Thursday, marking a rare stumble for one of the league’s top teams. Tampa Bay had won six of seven prior to the back-to-back losses. A key to their rebound will be veteran defenseman Victor Hedman, who logged a goal and an assist in the loss to Buffalo. Hedman has three points in his last five games and remains a driving force on both ends of the ice. They face a Wild club (35-25) that has won seven of its last 10 games and is firmly in the Western Conference playoff chase. Minnesota is coming off a 5-2 road win in Colorado last Thursday, though it fell 5-2 in Utah on Friday. The Wild are powered by forward Matt Boldy, who is in the midst of a torrid scoring stretch. Boldy has recorded eight goals and five assists over his last four games, including a four-point (2g, 2a), 10-shot performance against the Avalanche. Containing him will be a primary focus for the Lightning defense. This game opens a three-game road trip for Tampa Bay, which heads to Winnipeg next. Minnesota begins a two-game homestand before heading to Vegas on Friday. The teams are scheduled to meet again in Tampa on March 24.
