Preview: Red Wings Visit Predators in Nashville NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Detroit Red Wings, holding a playoff position in the Eastern Conference, will look to solidify their standing when they visit the struggling Nashville Predators on Monday night at Bridgestone Arena. The Red Wings (34-26-0) enter with a seven-point edge in the standings over the Predators (27-32-0), who sit near the bottom of the Western Conference. Detroit is coming off a 5-2 road loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, while Nashville fell 3-2 in overtime at Dallas the same night. A key matchup will feature veteran star wingers on opposite sides. Detroit’s Patrick Kane, who scored a goal against Carolina, has been a consistent offensive catalyst. For Nashville, Steven Stamkos remains a bright spot, scoring a goal in Dallas and registering seven points in his last five games, including a four-point night against Minnesota on Feb. 4. The teams last met on Nov. 26, 2025, in Detroit, where the Predators skated to a 6-3 victory. The Red Wings will aim to avenge that loss and improve upon a recent road record that includes wins in Ottawa, Colorado and Winnipeg, but also blowout losses in Carolina and Utah. Detroit’s lineup, led by captain Dylan Larkin and defenseman Simon Edvinsson — who also scored against Carolina — has shown resilience, winning three of its last four games decided in overtime or a shootout. The Predators have struggled to close games, with three overtime losses in their last 10 contests, but have shown offensive firepower, scoring four or more goals four times in that span. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, the Predators are projected to win a tight one, 3-2. Following this contest, Detroit begins a four-game homestand Wednesday against Vegas. Nashville embarks on a six-game road trip starting Tuesday in Columbus.
