DALLAS (Interstat) — The surging Dallas Stars, led by a red-hot Wyatt Johnston, visit the struggling Vancouver Canucks on Monday night at Rogers Arena in a matchup of teams at opposite ends of the NHL standings. The Stars (36-23-0) enter on a three-game win streak and have earned victories in nine of their last 11 contests. Their most recent was a 3-2 overtime triumph over Nashville on Saturday, where Johnston notched a goal and an assist. The young center has been pivotal, recording three goals and an assist over his last two games. Conversely, the Canucks (18-41-0) are mired in a four-game losing skid and have dropped 12 of their last 14. They are coming off a 5-1 road loss to Seattle on Saturday. Rookie winger Liam Ohgren has been a rare bright spot, registering a goal and an assist over his last four games. The season series is split 1-1. Vancouver won 5-3 in Dallas on Oct. 16, 2025, before the Stars answered with a 4-2 victory in Vancouver on Nov. 20, 2025. Dallas’s offense, averaging over three and a half goals per game during its recent successful stretch, will test a Vancouver defense that has allowed five or more goals in three of its last four losses. The Stars’ depth has shown, with contributors like Jason Robertson and Nathan Bastian providing consistent support behind Johnston’s line. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, Dallas is projected to extend its run with a 3-1 road victory. For Vancouver, halting the slide will require improved defensive structure and capitalizing on limited chances. Ohgren, along with Conor Garland, will be relied upon to spark an offense that has been held to two or fewer goals in three consecutive games. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST. Following the game, Dallas travels to Calgary for a back-to-back Tuesday, while Vancouver hosts the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday.
