Kraken, Blues Meet in St. Louis with Playoff Hopes on Thin Ice ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — Two teams on the outside of the Western Conference playoff picture will look to gain ground when the Seattle Kraken visit the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Thursday night. The Kraken (27-29-0) arrive with marginally better form, having won four of their last six games. They are coming off a 4-2 road victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Feb. 4, powered by a two-goal performance from center Shane Wright. Goaltender Joey Daccord stopped 25 of 27 shots in that win. Seattle’s recent success stands in stark contrast to the struggles of the Blues (20-37-0), who own the second-worst record in the NHL. St. Louis has lost eight of its last nine games, including a 5-4 defeat in Dallas on Feb. 4. Rookie Jimmy Snuggerud and center Jordan Kyrou each had a goal and an assist in the loss, but defensive lapses have plagued the team throughout a difficult season. The Kraken won the only previous meeting this season, a 4-3 overtime victory in St. Louis on Nov. 8, 2025. Seattle’s offense has shown potency during its 4-2 stretch, averaging 3.83 goals per game. Beyond Wright, contributors have been varied, a necessity for a team still seeking consistency. The Blues, meanwhile, have allowed 4.22 goals per game over their last nine, a significant factor in their slide. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, Seattle is projected to win a tight contest, 3-2. For the Blues, the game represents a critical chance to halt their skid before a demanding stretch that sees them play seven of their next eight on the road. The Kraken view it as an opportunity to build momentum before returning home to Climate Pledge Arena for a five-game homestand, which includes a rematch with St. Louis on March 4. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
