PREVIEW: Golden Knights, Kings Meet in Pacific Division Clash LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The Vegas Golden Knights will look to continue their recent dominance over the struggling Los Angeles Kings when the Pacific Division rivals meet Wednesday night at Crypto.com Arena. Vegas (27-30) has won the last two head-to-head meetings, including a 4-1 victory at home on Feb. 5. In that contest, Jack Eichel led the way with a goal and an assist, while Ivan Barbashev added two assists. The Golden Knights also won 3-2 in overtime in Los Angeles on Jan. 14. The Kings’ last win in the season series was a 6-5 shootout victory in Vegas on Oct. 8. Entering Wednesday, the Golden Knights have shown inconsistent form, alternating wins and losses over their past six games. Their most recent result was the Feb. 5 win over these same Kings, preceded by a 5-2 victory over Vancouver. The Kings (23-33), meanwhile, are mired in a deeper slump, having lost four of their last five games. Their only win in that stretch was a 3-2 overtime decision in Philadelphia on Jan. 31. They are coming off consecutive regulation losses to Seattle and Vegas. Offensive production has been a key differentiator. In the Feb. 5 meeting, Vegas’ top line of Eichel and Barbashev proved decisive. Los Angeles, which managed only a Trevor Moore goal assisted by Anze Kopitar and Joel Armia in that game, has struggled to find consistent scoring beyond its top players. The game opens a critical three-game homestand for the Kings, who will host Edmonton on Thursday and Calgary on Saturday. Vegas begins a four-game road trip, with stops in Washington, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and Detroit to follow. Despite both teams sitting below .500 overall, the season series has been tightly contested, with two of the three meetings requiring extra time. The Kings will aim to leverage home ice to snap their skid, while the Golden Knights seek to build momentum before embarking on their lengthy trip. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PST.
