Vegas Seeks Road Redemption Against Montreal at Bell Centre MONTREAL (Interstat) — The Vegas Golden Knights look to rebound from a lopsided defeat when they visit the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Tuesday night in a cross-conference NHL matchup. Vegas (25-26) arrives reeling from a 7-1 road loss to the Ottawa Senators on Sunday. The Golden Knights had won seven of their previous nine games before the blowout in Ottawa, where defenseman Rasmus Andersson scored their lone goal. The Canadiens (28-24), meanwhile, are looking to build momentum after a hard-fought 4-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday, a game in which sniper Cole Caufield recorded a hat trick. A key player to watch for Vegas is center Ivan Barbashev. While he was held off the scoresheet in Sunday’s loss, Barbashev has been a consistent contributor, registering five assists in his last 10 games. His physical presence will be needed against a rugged Montreal squad. For the Canadiens, power forward Josh Anderson brings a similar blend of size and scoring touch. Anderson has three goals and two assists in his last six appearances, including a goal and an assist in a 6-5 overtime win over Ottawa on Jan. 17. This meeting is the second of the season between the clubs. Montreal dominated the first, securing a 4-1 victory in Las Vegas on Nov. 28, 2025. The Golden Knights’ recent road record has been a strength prior to the Ottawa game, with notable away wins at Toronto, Los Angeles, and San Jose this month. They will need to rediscover that form against a Montreal team that is 16-10 on home ice. Montreal’s top line of Caufield, Nick Suzuki (who had two assists against Boston), and Anderson presents a significant challenge. Suzuki leads the team in points and will be central to the Canadiens’ attack. Vegas will rely on its veteran core, including Tomas Hertl and the recently productive Andersson from the blue line, to stabilize play after Sunday’s performance. Goaltending, which has been inconsistent for both clubs this season, could be the decisive factor. Tuesday’s contest opens a critical three-game road trip for Vegas. Montreal continues a stretch of home games before heading out on a lengthy road trip of its own later in February. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
