ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — The Dallas Stars look to build on a recent victory over the same opponent when they visit the struggling St. Louis Blues in a Central Division matchup Tuesday night at Enterprise Center. The Stars (29-23) edged the Blues 3-2 at home just four days prior, on Jan. 23. Dallas captain Jamie Benn took two penalty minutes in that contest. He will be a player to watch as the Stars seek more consistent offense after being shut out in Columbus last Thursday. St. Louis (19-33) enters on a five-game winless skid (0-4-1), most recently falling 5-4 in a shootout to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Despite the team’s struggles, center Jordan Kyrou has been a bright spot. He recorded a goal and an assist in the two games prior to the All-Star break, including an assist in the loss to Dallas, and posted two goals and four shots in the defeat to Los Angeles. The season series is tied 1-1. The Blues won the first meeting on home ice, 3-1, back on Oct. 18. Dallas has alternated wins and losses over its last six games. Following Tuesday’s contest, the Stars begin a two-game road trip through Vegas and Utah. The Blues, sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference, will look to Kyrou and linemate Pavel Buchnevich, who had two assists Saturday, to spark an upset before hosting the Florida Panthers on Thursday. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
