ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) — Two Pacific Division teams heading in opposite directions meet Friday night when the Anaheim Ducks visit the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. The Ducks (25-24-0) arrive with momentum, having won three straight games, including a 5-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Monday. Rookie forward Cutter Gauthier led the charge in that win, scoring two goals. The 21-year-old winger has been a bright spot, recording three goals and an assist over his last five contests. In contrast, the Kraken (21-27-0) are mired in a slump, losing four of their last five games. They are coming off a 6-3 home loss to Pittsburgh on Monday. Center Ben Meyers provided a flicker of offense in the defeat, notching a goal and an assist. Meyers has four points (two goals, two assists) in his last seven games. Seattle has dominated the season series, winning both prior matchups. The Kraken earned a 3-1 victory in Anaheim on Dec. 22 and a 3-1 win at home on Oct. 9. The Ducks’ recent surge has pushed them above .500 as they seek a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Goaltender Lukas Dostal has been key during the streak, posting a .932 save percentage over the three wins. Seattle, struggling to find consistency, will look to its defensive structure to slow Anaheim’s emerging attack. The Kraken have been outscored 18-9 during their 1-4 stretch. Following this game, Anaheim begins a three-game Canadian road trip in Calgary on Sunday. Seattle continues a five-game homestand against New Jersey on Sunday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
