Vancouver has been outscored 22-5 during the current slide. Conversely, the Islanders (26-22-0) have shown resilience, going 5-4-1 in their last 10 games despite a 4-2 loss at Calgary on Saturday. New York sits four games above .500 and is in the mix for a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. A key player to watch for the Islanders is center Jean-Gabriel Pageau. He scored a goal in the loss to Calgary and has recorded points in two of his last three games. His two-way play will be crucial against Vancouver’s top line. For the Canucks, winger Brock Boeser remains a bright spot. He scored the team’s lone goal in Columbus and has five points (one goal, four assists) in his last seven contests. Generating offense has been a persistent issue for Vancouver, which has been shut out twice during its losing streak. The teams last met on Dec. 19, 2025, with the Canucks securing a 4-1 road victory. Vancouver will need a similar defensive effort to contain an Islanders team that has shown explosive potential, including a 9-0 win over New Jersey on Jan. 6.
