ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — Two Central Division teams on divergent recent paths will meet Monday night when the Buffalo Sabres visit the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center. The Sabres (18-18-0) arrive riding a season-best five-game winning streak, their latest a 3-2 overtime victory in Ottawa on Dec. 23. Buffalo has surged to .500 by winning eight of its last 11 contests, showcasing improved defensive structure and timely scoring. Conversely, the Blues (14-24-0) have struggled to find consistency, dropping seven of their last 10 games. They are coming off a 4-1 loss in Tampa Bay on Dec. 22. St. Louis has been outscored 34-22 during that 10-game stretch and sits near the bottom of the Western Conference standings. A key player to watch for Buffalo is defenseman Bowen Byram. He is in the midst of a hot offensive stretch, recording three goals and four points over his last five games. Byram was the catalyst in the win over Ottawa, posting two goals and an assist, including the overtime winner. For St. Louis, veteran defenseman Justin Faulk has been a bright spot. He has goals in three of his last five games and leads the team’s blue line in offensive production during December. Faulk logged a goal and four shots in the loss to the Lightning. This is the second meeting between the clubs this season. St. Louis earned a 3-0 shutout victory in Buffalo on Nov. 6, 2025. The Sabres will be looking to avenge that loss and extend their current momentum. Following this contest, Buffalo continues a road trip in Dallas on New Year’s Eve. The Blues will also play on Dec. 31, traveling to face the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
