Bruins, Flames Meet in Calgary to Close 2025 CALGARY, Alberta (Interstat) — The Boston Bruins and Calgary Flames, two teams seeking consistency as the calendar turns, will face off Monday night at Scotiabank Saddledome. The Bruins (20-18-0) arrive after a disappointing 6-2 home loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 23, a defeat that capped a 1-3-0 stretch on a recent homestand. Boston has lost four of its last six games overall. A player to watch for Boston is forward Alex Steeves, who scored a goal in the loss to Montreal. Steeves has shown offensive flashes recently, recording four goals in his last nine games, including a two-goal performance against Detroit on Dec. 2. The Flames (15-22-0) are also looking to rebound after a 5-1 road loss to the provincial rival Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 23. That loss snapped a modest two-game win streak for Calgary, which has gone 5-5-0 in its last 10 contests. Calgary defenseman MacKenzie Weegar has been a bright spot, playing a heavy, productive game from the blue line. He logged a goal, 22 penalty minutes and a hit against Edmonton, and has recorded six points (one goal, five assists) along with 24 hits over his last nine games. In net, the Flames’ Dustin Wolf made 34 saves on 39 shots in the loss to the Oilers. Historically, Boston has dominated this matchup, winning eight of the last 10 meetings. The teams will meet again in Boston on Jan. 8. The Bruins continue a Western Canada road trip in Edmonton on Wednesday. The Flames host the Philadelphia Flyers on New Year’s Eve. Monday’s game will be the final NHL contest of 2025 for both clubs.
