Preview: Sharks at Ducks, Monday, Dec. 29, 2025 ANAHEIM, Calif. (Interstat) ā The Anaheim Ducks will look to solidify their position in the Pacific Division when they host the struggling San Jose Sharks at Honda Center on Monday night. The Ducks (21-16-0) enter the contest five games above .500 and seeking to rebound from a 3-1 home loss to the Seattle Kraken on Dec. 22. Veteran center Mikael Granlund has been a consistent offensive catalyst for Anaheim, recording points in four of his last five games, including three goals and two assists in that span. San Jose (17-20-0) arrives on a three-game losing skid, having been outscored 16-6 in losses to Dallas, Seattle and Vegas. The Sharksā most recent outing was a 7-2 defeat in Vegas on Dec. 23, where their defensive struggles were on full display. A key matchup will feature the Sharksā emerging star, center Macklin Celebrini, against Anaheimās experienced core. Celebrini, the likely Calder Trophy frontrunner, has been a rare bright spot during San Joseās slide. He has recorded 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in his last 10 games, including a four-point night (2 goals, 2 assists) in a win over Calgary on Dec. 16. His dynamic play will be central to any San Jose turnaround. Granlund leads a more balanced Ducks attack. He has goals in three of his last four contests and will be relied upon to drive Anaheimās top power-play unit against a San Jose penalty kill that has been taxed recently. The teams last met on Oct. 11 in San Jose, with the Ducks escaping with a wild 7-6 overtime victory. That high-scoring affair suggests special teams and goaltending could be decisive factors in the rematch. For the Sharks, Monday begins a critical two-game Southern California road trip before returning home to face Minnesota on New Yearās Eve. The Ducks, meanwhile, wrap up a brief two-game homestand before hosting Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST at Honda Center.
