Preview: Sharks at Canucks, Saturday, December 27, 2025 VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Interstat) ā Two Pacific Division teams looking to halt late-December slides will meet Saturday when the San Jose Sharks visit the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena. Both clubs enter the matchup on losing notes. The Sharks (17-20-0) were routed 7-2 by the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. The Canucks (15-21-0) fell 5-2 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday. The game is the first of a home-and-home set this season; San Jose won the previous meeting 3-2 at home on Nov. 28. San Joseās offense runs through rookie sensation Macklin Celebrini. The center has been a bright spot amid inconsistency, recording 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) in his last 10 games. He scored a goal in Tuesdayās loss to Vegas. His linemates, including veteran Tyler Toffoli and rookie Collin Graf, who combined for three points against Vegas, will be key secondary threats. Vancouver will counter with winger Drew OāConnor, who scored the teamās lone goal from a forward in the Philadelphia loss. While his offensive output has been modest, his physical play will be needed against San Joseās top line. The Sharks have shown a Jekyll-and-Hyde character recently, mixing impressive wins over Pittsburgh, Toronto and Carolina with several lopsided defeats. Their penalty kill, which allowed three power-play goals to Vegas, will be under scrutiny. Vancouverās struggles are more pronounced at home, where they have lost three straight. A four-game road winning streak earlier this month seems a distant memory after the team managed just two goals in its last two contests overall. Generating sustained offense beyond a single line remains a critical issue. In net, neither team has announced a starter. The matchup could hinge on which goaltender can better weather early pressure, as both clubs have been prone to giving up multi-goal periods. The game kicks off a crucial three-game homestand for the Canucks before a lengthy Eastern road trip. The Sharks continue a road swing before returning to California to face Anaheim on Monday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST.
