TAMPA, Fla. (Interstat) — The Tampa Bay Lightning will seek quick revenge when they host the New York Islanders on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at Amalie Arena just four days after a narrow road loss. The Atlantic Division’s Lightning (16-10-0) saw a three-game win streak snapped with a 2-1 defeat to the Islanders on Tuesday. Nick Paul and Emil Lilleberg each notched an assist in the loss. Tampa Bay had previously averaged 4.3 goals per game during its streak. The Metropolitan Division’s Islanders (14-13-0) earned that 2-1 victory on home ice behind 28 saves from goaltender Ilya Sorokin. The win halted a three-game skid for New York, which had been outscored 11-5 in those losses. This contest kicks off a home-and-home set, with the teams meeting again at UBS Arena on Long Island on Saturday, Dec. 13. It begins a demanding stretch for both clubs. Following this game, the Islanders travel to face the Florida Panthers on Sunday. The Lightning embark on a three-game road trip through Canada and New Jersey starting Monday in Toronto. In the overall standings, Tampa Bay holds a six-point advantage over New York. Saturday’s matchup is the second of three scheduled meetings this season.
