Hurricanes Host Struggling Predators in Saturday Night Matchup RALEIGH, N.C. (Interstat) — The Carolina Hurricanes will look to rebound from a lopsided loss when they host the Nashville Predators at Lenovo Center on Saturday night. Carolina (16-10-0) enters the contest after a 5-1 home defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday. The Hurricanes had previously won three of their last four games, including a 5-1 victory over Winnipeg on Nov. 28 where forward Seth Jarvis recorded a hat trick. Jarvis, a player to watch for Carolina, also scored the team’s lone goal against Toronto and has four goals in his last five games. Nashville (10-17-0) arrives with some momentum, having won three of its last four, including a 2-1 overtime victory at Florida on Thursday. Veteran center Ryan O’Reilly, a key player for the Predators, tallied a goal and an assist in that win and has recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) over his last seven games. Despite Nashville’s recent uptick, the teams have had divergent seasons. The Predators sit near the bottom of the Central Division, while the Hurricanes are in the playoff mix in the Metropolitan Division. The game will be the first of a home-and-home set between the clubs, who will meet again in Nashville on Dec. 17. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, the projected final score is Carolina 4, Nashville 2. Following Saturday’s game, Carolina will host the San Jose Sharks on Sunday. Nashville continues its road trip at Colorado on Tuesday.
