DALLAS (Interstat) — The surging Dallas Stars will host the struggling San Jose Sharks in a National Hockey League matchup on Friday at American Airlines Center. The Stars (18-10-0) enter on a strong run, having won seven of their last 10 games. They are coming off a 3-0 road shutout of the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, powered by a 31-save performance from goaltender Jake Oettinger and multi-point nights from Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson. Conversely, the Sharks (13-15-0) are looking to rebound from a 7-1 home defeat to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. Their recent form has been inconsistent, with four losses in their last six contests. A notable anomaly in that loss was goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic, who was credited with a goal. Friday’s game opens a five-game road trip for San Jose. The Sharks’ offense, which has been shut out three times this season, will face a stiff test against a Dallas team that has allowed two or fewer goals in four of its last five victories. The National Statistical game simulator projects a 5-2 victory for the Stars. The teams will meet again in San Jose on Dec. 18.
