OTTAWA, Ontario (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt slides meet Thursday when the New York Rangers visit the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. Both clubs enter with nearly identical records. The Rangers (13-14-0) have lost three of their last four, including a 4-1 home loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday. Jonny Brodzinski and Brett Berard were noted for physical play in that defeat. Ottawa (12-13-0) is concluding a lengthy road trip after a 6-1 loss in Dallas on Sunday. Defenseman Jake Sanderson scored the lone goal for the Senators. The Rangers have been inconsistent, following a 6-2 win in Boston on Nov. 28 with the loss to Tampa Bay. Ottawa’s trip has been mixed, with a shootout win in Vegas preceding losses in Los Angeles and Dallas. The matchup opens a two-game homestand for the Senators before hosting St. Louis on Saturday. The Rangers return home to face Colorado on Saturday.
