MONTREAL (Interstat) — Two teams with identical win totals but contrasting recent fortunes will meet when the Winnipeg Jets visit the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night at Bell Centre. Both clubs enter with 13 wins overall. The Jets (13-12) are looking to rebound from a 5-1 road loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. Kyle Connor scored their lone goal and Josh Morrissey added an assist in the defeat. Winnipeg has split its last six games, going 2-3 on its current road trip. The Canadiens (13-11) have not played since a 7-2 loss at Colorado last Saturday. Rookies Ivan Demidov and Lane Hutson each scored a goal in that contest. Montreal had won two straight, including a 5-2 victory over Toronto, prior to the loss in Denver and is 2-1 on its current homestand. According to a projection by National Statistical, the Canadiens are favored to win 3-2. The game opens a two-game trip for Winnipeg, which hosts Buffalo on Friday. Montreal visits Toronto on Saturday.
