NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build on rare recent victories will meet Tuesday when the Calgary Flames visit the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Both clubs enter the contest near the bottom of the NHL standings. The Flames (9-17-0) snapped a four-game road losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Florida Panthers on Friday. The Predators (8-17-0) are coming off a 5-2 home loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, which followed a two-game win streak. Calgary arrives with some offensive momentum, having scored five goals in two of its last three games. Nazem Kadri led the charge against Florida, recording a goal and two assists, while goaltender Devin Cooley made 37 saves for the win. Nashville, however, has had Calgary’s number recently, defeating the Flames 4-2 in their first meeting this season on Nov. 1. In their last outing, the Predators saw contributions from Nick Blankenburg, who scored a goal, and Erik Haula, who added two assists. The game will be the first of a two-game homestand for Nashville before it embarks on a two-game road trip. Calgary continues its lengthy road swing before returning home Thursday to face the Minnesota Wild.
