LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — The surging Washington Capitals will look to extend their winning streak when they visit the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at Crypto.com Arena. Washington (15-11-0) enters the contest riding a three-game win streak, including a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Sunday. Tom Wilson led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Alex Ovechkin added a goal and an assist. Goaltender Logan Thompson stopped 30 of 31 shots. The Capitals have won five of their last six games, averaging over four goals per contest in that span. They edged the Kings 2-1 in their previous meeting on Nov. 17 in Washington. Los Angeles (12-13-0) is coming off a 2-1 overtime win against Vancouver on Saturday, with captain Anze Kopitar scoring the decisive goal. The Kings have struggled for consistency, however, alternating wins and losses in their last five games. The matchup pits Washington’s recent offensive outburst against a Kings team seeking to build momentum on home ice. The Capitals will continue a road trip in San Jose on Wednesday, while the Kings will host the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
