EDMONTON, Alberta (Interstat) — The Minnesota Wild look to rebound from a shootout loss when they visit Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place on Tuesday night. Minnesota (14-12-0) is coming off a 3-2 shootout defeat to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Despite the loss, the Wild have earned points in eight of their last 10 games, going 7-2-1 in that stretch. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy each scored in the loss to Buffalo, with Boldy adding an assist. The Edmonton Oilers (11-15-0) enter on a high note after a 4-0 road win against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. Stuart Skinner recorded a 26-save shutout, while McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each tallied a goal and an assist. The victory snapped a two-game skid for the Oilers, who have struggled with consistency this season. The game features a contrast in net, with Minnesota’s Filip Gustavsson, who made 30 saves against Buffalo, likely facing Edmonton’s Skinner, who is coming off his shutout performance. This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this month, with a rematch scheduled for Dec. 20 in Minnesota. Following Tuesday’s contest, the Wild continue a road trip in Calgary on Thursday. The Oilers host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.
