DETROIT (Interstat) — The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings will meet for the second time in four days Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena, with the Bruins looking for a regulation win after a shootout victory in the teams’ last outing. The Atlantic Division matchup features two teams hovering near the .500 mark. Boston (15-12-0) arrives in Detroit after a 3-2 shootout win over the Red Wings on Saturday. Detroit (13-13-0) is looking to snap a three-game losing streak, having also dropped decisions to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators last week. In Saturday’s contest, Boston center Morgan Geekie led the way with two goals, while Elias Lindholm added two assists. The Red Wings saw captain Dylan Larkin record two assists, with Lucas Raymond and Michael Rasmussen each scoring a goal. The Bruins have been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over their past six games. The Red Wings have struggled defensively of late, allowing six goals in each of their two games prior to the shootout loss in Boston. Following this game, the Bruins return home to face the St. Louis Blues on Thursday. The Red Wings embark on a six-game road trip, starting Thursday in Columbus.
