SEATTLE (Interstat) — Sam Darnold threw two touchdown passes, Emanuel Wilson ran for another score and caught a touchdown as the Seahawks held off the L.A. Chargers 30-23 on Sunday at Lumen Field. Attendance was 68,691. The Seahawks improved to 3-1, while the Chargers fell to 0-4. Darnold completed 13 of 22 passes for 168 yards. Chargers for a 30-23 victory Sunday at Lumen Field. A crowd of 68,691 watched the Seahawks improve to 3-1. The Chargers dropped to 0-4. Darnold completed 13 of 22 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns, and he ran three times for 6 yards. Wilson carried 21 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, added three receptions for 39 yards and another score, and was credited with one tackle. Seattle opened the scoring sequence after Cameron Dicker gave the Chargers an early lead with a 40-yard field goal in the first quarter. The Seahawks answered when Darnold found Wilson on a short pass to the right that went 23 yards for a touchdown. Jason Myers added the extra point to put Seattle ahead. In the second quarter, Shaheed broke free on a left-end run for a 28-yard touchdown. Myers’ extra point missed wide right. Wilson then scored on an 8-yard run through the left guard, and Myers made the extra point. Dicker closed the first half with a 39-yard field goal as time expired, sending Seattle into halftime with a 20-6 advantage. Seattle extended its lead in the third quarter when Darnold connected with Horton on a 6-yard touchdown pass after J. Jones reported as eligible. Myers’ extra point was good. Darnold’s performance followed a 379-yard, four-touchdown outing in Seattle’s previous game, a narrow loss at Washington. In that game, he completed 31 of 45 passes and ran once for 5 yards. The Seahawks had entered the game after that loss at Washington, a road win at Arizona and a home win over New England earlier this season. The Chargers remained winless after losses to Arizona, Las Vegas and Buffalo. Seattle will host San Francisco in its next game. The Chargers will host Denver. Seattle will then visit Denver and host Kansas City. The Chargers will visit Kansas City and the L.A. Rams after hosting Denver. Seattle will also host Chicago, Arizona, Dallas and the N.Y.
