Preview: Jets at Saints, Sunday, December 21, 2025 NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — Two teams at the bottom of the NFL standings will meet Sunday when the New York Jets visit the New Orleans Saints at Caesars Superdome. The Jets (3-11) arrive after a 48-20 road loss to Jacksonville last week, their seventh defeat in eight games. The Saints (4-10) are coming off a 20-17 home victory over Carolina, marking their first winning streak of the season after also defeating Tampa Bay on Dec. 7. A matchup of struggling franchises will feature a duel between young quarterbacks. For New York, rookie Brady Cook seeks to rebound from a difficult outing in which he passed for 176 yards and a touchdown but was part of an offense that managed only 20 points. Cook has thrown for 339 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions over his two starts. New Orleans will counter with Tyler Shough, who has provided a spark since taking over as starter. In four games, Shough has passed for 898 yards and six touchdowns while adding 127 rushing yards. His dual-threat ability was key in the recent wins, as he accounted for three total touchdowns against Carolina. The Saints’ offense will face a Jets defense that allowed 48 points and 451 total yards last week. New York’s ground game, led by Isaiah Davis and Breece Hall, will test a New Orleans run defense that surrendered 153 yards to the Panthers. According to National Statistical, the Saints are projected to win 32-22. Despite this, oddsmakers have installed the Jets as 6.5-point favorites. The over/under is set at 40.5 points. For both teams, the final weeks of the season are about evaluation and building momentum for 2026. The Jets will look to Cook to develop consistency, while the Saints aim to see if Shough can solidify himself as their future quarterback. New York visits New England next Sunday. New Orleans travels to Tennessee.
