FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (Interstat) — A critical AFC East rematch with significant playoff implications is set for Sunday when the Buffalo Bills visit the first-place New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots (11-2) enter Week 15 riding a five-game winning streak and can clinch the division title with a victory. The Bills (9-4), currently in the AFC’s wild-card position, aim to avenge a 23-20 home loss to New England on Oct. 5 and keep their division hopes alive. New England’s success has been fueled by rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who has thrown for 576 yards and three touchdowns without an interception during the team’s current streak. In the Patriots’ 33-15 win over the New York Giants on Dec. 1, Maye completed 24 of 31 passes for 282 yards and two scores. Buffalo counters with the dynamic dual-threat of quarterback Josh Allen, who is coming off a spectacular performance in a 39-34 shootout win over Cincinnati last Sunday. Allen passed for 251 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 78 yards and another score. Over his last four games, Allen has accounted for 10 total touchdowns. The Bills’ offense, however, has been inconsistent, averaging 31 points in their wins but just 16 in their losses this season. Their defense faces a stern test against a balanced Patriots attack that features running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson. According to National Statistical’s game simulator, the Patriots are projected to win 32-21. Oddsmakers have installed New England as a 1.5-point favorite, with an over/under of 49.5 points. A Patriots win would secure the AFC East crown and bolster their case for the conference’s top seed. A Bills victory would tighten the division race and strengthen Buffalo’s positioning in a crowded AFC playoff field.
