NFC North Showdown Set for Lambeau as Bears Visit Packers GREEN BAY, Wis. (Interstat) â A critical NFC North clash with significant playoff implications will unfold at Lambeau Field on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears. The Bears (9-3) enter with a slim one-game division lead over the Packers (8-3), making this the first of two pivotal meetings between the rivals in a 13-day span. The teams will meet again in Chicago on Dec. 19. Chicago arrives riding a four-game winning streak, most recently a 24-15 road victory over Philadelphia on Nov. 28. While quarterback Caleb Williams struggled with accuracy, completing 17 of 36 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown, the Bearsâ ground game dominated. Rookie Kyle Monangai rushed for 130 yards and a score, while DâAndre Swift added 125 yards and a touchdown. Williams, the dynamic second-year quarterback, has been a catalyst during the streak, contributing 10 total touchdowns (7 passing, 3 rushing) over the last five games. His dual-threat ability will challenge a Green Bay defense that has allowed an average of just 17.6 points during its own three-game winning streak. The Packers are surging after a 31-24 Thanksgiving win in Detroit. Quarterback Jordan Love was exceptional, throwing for 234 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. Love has tossed 10 touchdown passes against only one pick during Green Bayâs current win streak. âYou have two young quarterbacks playing at a very high level, leading teams that are fighting for the top of the division,â Bears coach Matt Eberflus said. âItâs what this rivalry is all about.â Despite Chicagoâs superior record and status as a 6.5-point favorite, statistical models project a close contest. National Statisticalâs simulator forecasts a 28-19 Packers victory. The over/under is set at 44.5 points. Green Bayâs defense, keyed by the return of several starters from injury, will aim to contain Chicagoâs potent rushing attack, which averages 162 yards per game. The Bearsâ defense, which forced three turnovers against the Eagles, will focus on pressuring Love and limiting big plays to receivers Christian Watson and Jayden Reed. History adds another layer, as the Packers have won 10 of the last 11 meetings. However, this Bears team presents the most formidable challenge in years. âWe know whatâs at stake,â Love said. âItâs December football at Lambeau against the Bears. It doesnât get any better.â Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m. CST Sunday.
