Preview: No. 2 Seed Miami (Ohio) Faces No. 7 Ohio in MAC Tournament Semifinal CLEVELAND (Interstat) — A spot in the Mid-American Conference tournament championship game will be on the line Friday when the second-seeded Miami (Ohio) Redhawks meet the seventh-seeded Ohio Bobcats in a women’s basketball semifinal at Rocket Arena. The matchup, scheduled for March 13, 2026, is a rubber game between the divisional foes. Miami (Ohio) (26-6) dominated the first meeting 90-70 at home on Jan. 31, but Ohio (18-12) answered with a 77-62 victory in Athens just six days ago. The Redhawks, boasting one of the conference’s best records, are led by guard Tamar Singer. She is coming off a stellar 25-point, seven-assist performance in a quarterfinal win over Kent State. However, Singer was held to just four points in the recent loss to Ohio. The Bobcats are riding a wave of momentum, having won three straight, including a dramatic 89-88 overtime victory at Central Michigan in the quarterfinals. Guard Bailey Tabeling fueled that win with a career-high 33 points and has been on a scoring tear, averaging 21.1 points over her last seven games. She scored 18 in the win over Miami last week. Ohio’s path has been marked by narrow results, with three of its last six games going to overtime. Miami’s season has been defined by consistency, with the loss to Ohio standing as its only defeat since Feb. 14. The winner will advance to Saturday’s MAC championship game to face either top-seeded Toledo or No. 5 seed Ball State.
