Preview: Brown Bears vs. Princeton Tigers - Ivy League Women’s Basketball Championship ITHACA, N.Y. (Interstat) — The top-seeded Princeton Tigers, one of the nation’s dominant teams, face a familiar but overmatched opponent when they meet the fourth-seeded Brown Bears for the Ivy League women’s basketball championship on Friday, March 13, 2026. Princeton (24-3), ranked No. 12 nationally, enters the title game at Cornell’s Newman Arena as a heavy favorite, having steamrolled through the conference with a 14-2 record. Their season includes two decisive victories over Brown, a 69-37 rout on Feb. 21 and a 58-49 win on Jan. 24. The Tigers are powered by a balanced attack, but guard Fadima Tall has been a standout. She is coming off a 22-point performance in a 78-55 semifinal win over Yale and averaged 16.2 points over her final six regular-season games. Princeton’s defense has been stifling, holding opponents to an average of 52.3 points. Brown (16-10) arrives as the tournament’s surprise finalist after upsetting higher seeds. The Bears’ path, however, has been inconsistent. They closed the regular season with losses in three of their last four games, including the 32-point defeat at Princeton and a 69-56 loss at Penn on March 7. For Brown to have any chance at the monumental upset, they will need a heroic performance from guard Alyssa Moreland. She led the Bears with 12 points in the loss to Penn and scored 11 in a narrow defeat to Columbia. In the Feb. 21 meeting with Princeton, Moreland was held to eight points. The Tigers have not lost to an Ivy opponent since a 70-56 setback at Columbia on Feb. 13, their only conference loss. Brown last won the tournament in 2019. Princeton seeks its third title in four years and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The championship tips off at 5 p.m. EDT and will be televised on ESPN2.
