WICHITA, Kan. (Interstat) — A North Texas team aiming to solidify its standing will face a Wichita State squad looking to play spoiler when the Mean Green visit the Shockers in an American Athletic Conference women’s basketball matchup Tuesday night at Charles Koch Arena. North Texas (16-11) enters the contest looking to rebound from a narrow 66-63 home loss to South Florida on Saturday. The Mean Green had won three straight prior to that defeat and remain in the hunt for a favorable conference tournament seed. Wichita State (7-22) seeks to build momentum after a 62-54 loss at Tulane, having snapped a lengthy skid with back-to-back wins over UAB and Texas-San Antonio just last week. The game features two of the league’s top individual scorers. North Texas will lean on guard Megan Nestor, who is coming off a 14-point effort against USF and has been a consistent force. She erupted for 20 points and 13 rebounds in a win at Temple on Feb. 7.
