Nevada, Utah State Seek Positive Finish in Regular Season Finale NIBLEY, Utah (Interstat) ā Two teams looking to halt lengthy slides will meet when the Nevada womenās basketball team visits Utah State on Tuesday night in the regular-season finale for both Mountain West programs. The matchup at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum pits the Wolf Pack (9-20) against the Aggies (6-22) in a game between the bottom two teams in the conference standings. Nevada has lost three straight and eight of its last nine. Utah Stateās struggles are more pronounced, having dropped 12 consecutive games. Its last win was a 58-40 home victory over San JosĆ© State on Jan. 18. Nevada will rely on guard Skylar Durley, who has been a consistent offensive bright spot. She is coming off a 16-point effort in a 63-56 home loss to New Mexico on Feb. 28 and has scored in double figures in seven of her last eight games, including a 20-point, 8-rebound performance against Boise State on Feb. 4. Utah Stateās hopes rest partly on forward Rachel Wilson, who has shown flashes of productivity. She posted 16 points and eight rebounds in a loss at Grand Canyon on Feb. 21 and scored 12 points in the Aggiesā most recent defeat, a 75-75 loss at Boise State on Saturday. The Wolf Pack won the seasonās first meeting handily, defeating Utah State 58-40 in Reno on Jan. 3. In that game, Nevadaās defense held the Aggies to 27.3% shooting from the field. Both teams will be playing for pride and momentum heading into next weekās Mountain West Tournament. For Nevada, a victory would snap a three-game skid and secure a season sweep of the Aggies. For Utah State, a win would end a demoralizing two-month drought and provide a positive send-off for its seniors on home court. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST.
