The No. 6-seeded Governors (16-12) and No. 7-seeded Bisons (10-19) split their regular-season meetings, each winning on their opponent’s home floor. Austin Peay earned the most recent result, a 48-43 defensive struggle at Lipscomb last Friday. The stage now shifts to a neutral court at Jacksonville’s Swisher Gymnasium with a tournament berth on the line. Austin Peay enters with the better overall record and the momentum of last week’s win. The Governors are led by guard Jade Rucker, who poured in a game-high 18 points in the victory over Lipscomb. Her scoring punch will be vital for an Austin Peay squad that has shown volatility, following a dominant 82-41 win over Bellarmine with a 54-67 loss to Eastern Kentucky in its next outing. Lipscomb will lean on the consistent play of guard McKayla Miller, who has been a bright spot during a challenging season.
