Preview: Grambling Looks to Avenge Tight Loss at Alabama A&M HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Interstat) ā The Grambling Lady Tigers will seek to split the season series and disrupt the Alabama A&M Bulldogsā strong campaign when the Southwestern Athletic Conference womenās basketball teams meet Tuesday at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for March 3, 2026. Alabama A&M (18-9 overall) enters with a clear edge in the standings and confidence from a 54-50 road victory over Grambling on Feb. 5. The Bulldogs have won seven of their last eight games, including a 51-43 win over Alabama State on Saturday. Their defense has been a hallmark, holding opponents under 60 points in six of those eight contests. Grambling (12-17) arrives with momentum from back-to-back home wins, most recently a 79-65 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday. The Lady Tigers have shown resilience but have struggled to close tight games on the road. The matchup features a compelling individual duel. Gramblingās Alisha Murray is coming off a 17-point performance against Florida A&M and has averaged 12.4 points over her last five games. She was held to just five points in the first meeting with Alabama A&M. For the Bulldogs, Jaida Belton has been a consistent force. She posted 12 points and 13 rebounds in a rout of Mississippi Valley State on Feb. 14 and is averaging 12.4 points over her last five outings. Belton was limited to just two points in six minutes in the previous game against Grambling, indicating potential for a larger impact this time. Alabama A&Mās home court has been a fortress, with the team winning nine of its last ten at Elmore Gymnasium. Gramblingās road form has been inconsistent, though their recent offensive uptick, scoring 71 points or more in three of their last four wins, presents a challenge for the stout Bulldog defense. A key will be whether Grambling, which shot poorly in the fourth quarter of the February loss, can execute down the stretch. Alabama A&M will aim to control the tempo and leverage its defensive identity to protect its home floor and solidify its conference positioning. Both teams continue SWAC play on Thursday, with Grambling visiting Alabama State and Alabama A&M hosting Southern.
